Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of FinanceOS. By accessing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Last updated: 29 May 2026.

The service

FinanceOS provides tools to model and visualise Australian PAYG salary, tax, Medicare levy, employer super, HELP/HECS debt, spending, savings, and user-created scenarios. The controlled beta is limited to modelling, visibility, scenario comparison, education, exports, cloud sync where enabled, and optional AI explanations. Features may change, be experimental, or be unavailable at any time. Some areas of the app may include illustrative or demo content that is not your real account data.

Not professional advice

FinanceOS is for general information only. Nothing in the app, including the AI assistant, is financial, investment, tax, credit, superannuation, or legal advice. It does not recommend actions, products, providers, investments, credit cards, loans, super funds, or tax positions. Tax rates, thresholds, HELP indexation, and other assumptions change. Verify material details with official sources or a qualified professional for personal advice.

Accuracy and reliance

We aim for a useful experience but do not warrant that calculations, charts, comparisons, assumptions, exports, or third-party source labels are complete, current, or error-free. You use outputs at your own risk. The AI assistant can make mistakes and is limited to explanations and general information.

Your account and conduct

Where sign-in is offered, you must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. You agree not to misuse the service, probe or circumvent security, overload infrastructure, scrape in violation of our technical limits, or attempt to obtain secrets (API keys, tokens, or environment configuration) from the app, staff, or infrastructure.

Your data and privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are described in the Privacy Policy. Financial figures you enter are sensitive; you choose what to type and whether to enable cloud sync.

Third-party services and links

References to government sources, payment services, hosting providers, AI providers, analytics providers, banks, funds, or other third parties are for operation, source context, or education. FinanceOS is not endorsed by those third parties and does not provide product matching or rankings in the controlled beta.

Intellectual property

The FinanceOS name, branding, UI, and original content are owned by the project or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes unless the operator of your deployment grants you something different in writing.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operators and contributors of FinanceOS are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or inability to use it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent the law allows (and, where a lawful cap applies, to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, if any).

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service or specific features at any time, with or without notice, for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or other reasons. You may stop using the app at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will reflect material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with an update, stop using the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Australia for disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
