Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of FinanceOS. By accessing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Last updated: March 2026.

The service

FinanceOS provides tools to model and visualise personal finances in an Australian context, including (depending on configuration) income and tax-related flows, superannuation and HELP/HECS balance tracking, discretionary spending and rewards planning, investment price lookups, and an optional AI assistant. Features may change, be experimental, or be unavailable at any time. Some areas of the app may include illustrative or demo content (for example sample transactions or rate tables) that are not your real accounts.

Not professional advice

FinanceOS is for general information and personal planning only. Nothing in the app, including the AI assistant, is financial, investment, tax, superannuation, or legal advice. Tax rates, thresholds, HELP indexation, product rates, and merchant or loyalty program rules change frequently. You are responsible for verifying anything material with qualified professionals and official sources (for example the ATO, your fund, or your bank) before acting.

Accuracy and reliance

We aim for a useful experience but do not warrant that calculations, charts, comparisons, or third-party data (including market prices or published rates) are complete, current, or error-free. You use outputs at your own risk. The AI assistant can make mistakes; do not rely on it as a sole basis for financial decisions.

Your account and conduct

Where sign-in is offered, you must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. You agree not to misuse the service, probe or circumvent security, overload infrastructure, scrape in violation of our technical limits, or attempt to obtain secrets (API keys, tokens, or environment configuration) from the app, staff, or infrastructure.

Your data and privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are described in the Privacy Policy. Financial figures you enter are sensitive; you choose what to type and whether to enable cloud sync.

Third-party products and links

References to banks, funds, products, or loyalty programs are for comparison or education unless clearly stated otherwise. We are not endorsed by those third parties. Offers, caps, and conditions change; always read the provider's current terms before opening or changing a product.

Intellectual property

The FinanceOS name, branding, UI, and original content are owned by the project or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes unless the operator of your deployment grants you something different in writing.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operators and contributors of FinanceOS are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or inability to use it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent the law allows (and, where a lawful cap applies, to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, if any).

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service or specific features at any time, with or without notice, for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or other reasons. You may stop using the app at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will reflect material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with an update, stop using the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Australia for disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
